The Draw of Indy

The Indianapolis 500 remains one of the great motor racing occasions, boasting exceptional corporate hospitality opportunities and making a major impact on the city’s economy.  Back in 1911, Ray Harroun won the inaugural Indianapolis 500 in his Marmon ‘Wasp’, a unique racecar (and the first to be fitted with rear-view mirrors) that still resides in the museum at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. However, the current custodians of ‘The Brickyard’ are not going to wait until 2011 to celebrate this event. They are about to take full opportunity of the fact that their iconic venue was opened in 1909, and embark on a ‘centennial era’ that will extend from next year to the actual centenary of Harroun’s victory.
