Your father Bubby or “Ol’ Bub” is considered one of the best. What was it like growing up in the home of one of the best Sprint Car drivers ever to strap in? At the racetrack, it was exciting but everything was pretty quiet for the most part. Growing up with dad was pretty bitchin’. All of the excitement at the race- track and winning races was pretty cool. When you were that young, did you realize the hero status of your father? No, not really. We raced around so many guys -- Sammy Swindell, Jan Opperman, Rick Ferkel, Pancho Carter; there were just so many high-profile guys around at the time. All of these guys were our friends. Amy Swindell used to baby- sit us in the stands. Being that young, you’re just playing with hot wheels, and playing with other drivers’ kids and just having fun.
